Mich else n of Bremerton and their son and daughter-in-law Mr, and -Mrs. Harold Jacobs of Orting.On her two-piece black, frock, Mrs. Jacobs wore a corsage of three rose - bronze orchids, the gift of the Michelsens.Gold and white chrysanthemumsadorned the mantel and were arranged in baskets placed about the room. The lace - covered serving table was “T” shaped, centered with a large arrangement of gold and white chrysanthemums offset with gold, tapers in four-branch gold candelabra, Mrs, Jacobs’ sister Mrs. Virgil Whitehead of Seattle decorated the table.At the base of the **T” .was the anniversary cake, elaborately decorated with gold roses and the greeting “Happy Fiftieth Anniversary/' After Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs cut the first slice, Mrs, Jacobs’ sister Mrs. Lillian Grose of Moscow, Idaho, served the cake.Pouring were Mmes, Kenneth Sivo, Clarence Burch, Harold Jacobs and Whitehead, The Jacobs’ granddaughters Miss Linda Michel-sen and Miss Kathleen Jacobs had charge of the guest book,During the afternoon another granddaughter Miss Vernita M i-chelsen entertained with u v 1 olin solo. To a piano accompaniment Mrs, Alvin Grail, John W i n t e rs played the mandolin selections •“Redwing” and “iRed River Valley.”Mr. and Mrs, , Jacobs, the former Effie Burch were married inLa Plata. Mo., Nov, 20, 1907 and moved Ut WaUa 'Walla County in January 1908. In 1919 the family came to port Angeles.Jacobs drove the first six - horse team from Port Angeles to Lake Crescent, Fob m^ny years he was a marine engineer on cannery tenders and tug boats. Later he worked for -Clallam County 25 years on the grader.In V1926 the Jacoby, moved to Fair-vlew district where they ‘still make their home. They have two children, -14 grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.Among other relatives here for the occasion were their grandchildren- Rodney, Beatrice, Anthony, Kathleen, Steven, Patricia and Grace Jacobs of Orting and Kenneth, Vivian, Vernita and L i n da Michelsen of Bremerton; Jacobs' sister Mrs, Eleanor O’Brien; Mrs, Jacobs’ brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Burch of Milton - -Freewater, Ore., and her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Whitehead of Seattle.
