Mr. and Mrs. Blair RagerRagers observe 60th anniversaryMr. and Mrs. Blair Rager of Benshoff Hill have observ ed their 60th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner given by their children and family members at the Jerome Sportsmen’s Club.The celebration was attended by their best man and maid of honor, Don and Mary Stoner of Tanneryville, who soon will celebrate their 60th anniversary'.Mr. Rager and the former Hazel Varner were married Sept. 26,1947, at the Bowserdale Evangelical United Brethren Church in Tanneryville bv the Rev. Kelly.Mr. Rager was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Johnstown, son of Elmer and Catherine (Rummel) Rager.Mrs. Rager was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Johnstown, daughterof Merle and Nancy (Boyer) Varner of Morrellville.Mr. Rager is an Army veteran of World War II who served in Japan. He retired after 40 years’ service from Gautier Division. Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. He enjoys hunting and fishing.Mrs. Rager enjoys cooking. She is known for chicken and ham potpies and homemade apple dumplings.They are the parents of four children: Rick, and his wife, Linda, Hollsopple; Larry, and wife, Evelyn, Richland Township; Roy, and wife, Chris, South Fork; and Debbie Rager, Benshoff Hill.There are 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
