Local Couple Marks Golden AnniversaryJohn and Minnie Norbury ofTroy celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with friendsand relatives who attended “open house” on Sunday, November 7. Guests were from Troy, Woodriv-er, Edwardsville* Collinsville and Lemay, Missouri.Later, a six oclock supper was served to the immediate family and relatives at the Cherokee Trail Riders Club House.Mrs. Norbury is a life-long resident of Troy. Mr. Norbury was' born in Confidence, Illinois buthas lived in Troy most of his life.Both are 77 years old- They were married in Troy on November 10, 1904 by the Rev. Martin Daib of the Lutheran Church with the ceremony being witnessed by Mrs. Norbury's sister, Amelia Dahiege, and her brother, Gustav Daluege, both now deceased.Mr. and Mrs. Norbury have five children; Mrs. Arthur (Olivette) Kueker, Milton (Bus), Lester and Mrs. Joe (Erna) Lewis all of Collinsville, and Fred of Troy,They also have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
