MR. MRS. ALBERT MAYNARD CELEBRATE 50 th ANNIVERSARY A T THEIR HOME IN EDMONTONMr. and Mrs. Albert D. Maynard of Edmonton, Alta., were at home to their relatives and friends on Nov. 4, at 14*227-101 avenue, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, when 140 guests called to congratulate them.Mrs. Maynard, the Gladys Grant, was born in England and came to Canada as a young girl in 1910. Mr. Maynard was born in Ontario and came west to Dauphin as a young boy. They were married near Spruce Creek on Nov. 7, 1917.The , honored couple have resided in Edmonton for the past 17 years with previous places of residence being Calgary, Alta., Fort William, Ont., and Winnipeg. Mr. Maynard first started to learn structural steel work in 1912 while working on the high level bridge in Edmonton. liefirst became employed by the Dominion Bridge company in 1916 and was in their employ for 41 years. He was in charge of erection (structural steel), and built many of the buildings in Edmonton, which include several government and commercialformer j buildings, as well as part of theJournal building.Mr. Maynard, who is known as “Paddy” to many of his friends, retired in 1957, but is still called upon for consulting and inspection of .jobs.Guests at. the celebration were members of thcii family who had not all been together for 18 years: son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Irving K. Johnson and family, Diane and Grant, of Minne-dosa; their son, Russell Maynard, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Mrs. Maynard’.; two sisters and brother, Mrs. Emily Clyde of Dauphin, Mrs. Alice Eagle of St. James, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grant, of Calgary. Alta.; Mr. Maynard’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pauli of9Kosetown, Sask.; and also Mr. and Mrs. R. Wickes of Calgary, Alta,This joyous occasion was un-Jiquo in that it brought together ! the two sisters and their brother, who had not met for 18 years This was also the occasion of the I 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. j and Mrs. 1. K. Johnson of Min-; nodosa.Mr. and Mrs. Maynard have three children, Mrs. 1. K.
