At the left is Sheryl Clemans and Karen Huffman, and at the right is Jeanne Edison and Linda Cory. — Sentinel Photo.The Marion junior high school ibrary opened this week.The 1200 volumes in the library lave been reclassified according ;o the Dewey Decimal System in rder that the students might un-lerstand how a large city or eol-ege library classifies books. The Did labels which had been lacquered on the books were scraped off.Junior Stacie and Mike Napier did much of this. All of the remaining figures left on the books were painted out with black enamel. After the books were classified, new numbers were printed on them and new cards made out. The cards were catalogued in the new391 Thirtieth st., entertained Sim-lay in honor of the birthday oftheir twins, Kristi and Kurtis, whowere two years old. The guests included Mrs. Elzabeth Kolda of Waubeek, great grandmother; Mr. and Mrs, George Kolda, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carlson, grandparents, Nancy and Joyce Ann Koldaand Harold Hutchins of Marion,Walter Schlottevbeek who recently suffered a broken hip is home from St. Luke's hospital.Ronald Hess, a student at Iowa State Teachers college, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hess.I card file and the books put in their j proper places on the shelves. It has been a long and hard task, but the students have a good understanding of the work behind thelibrary. ^%Sixteen student librarians wovliunder the supervision of Mrs. William M. Johnston, English teacher. Two students are assigned to each of the eight study liuil periods.Students acting as librarians for year are Hana Maly, Kathryn Mer-oshek, Linda Halt, Mary Peterson, Suanne Jones, Karen Linklettcr, Veta Smith, Elsie Andrews, Shnryn Farrell, Larry Miller, Lois Hanna, John Lange, Patty Hippie, Marilyn Sorter, Linda Price and Jane Kent.
