He came to this country October 2f 1857, and settled in Xew York city. Shortly after his arrival he married Miss Catherine Martin. The surviving children are William P. Gcllcr. the well known Broadway baker: Theodore H. Geller. Mrs. Peter TrlTiimcl. Miss Louise Geller. all of Fort Wayne: George Gel lor, of Huntington, and Charles Geller, of Portland, Oregon. Tn March, 13511, Mr. Geilcr visited Fort Wayne, but returned to Xew York after a week’s visit and it was not until the summer of 1807 that he settled In this city. Shortly aft'T his arrival he purchased six acres of land In the north part, where he built the homestead now stnndinc at GG5 Huffman street, Mr. Geller h a staunch patriot and four years after his arrival in the land of his adoption he left his wife and children and risked his life for the union. Tn 18(11 he enlisted in company H. Seventh* Xew York volunteer infantry. In the regiment known as the Steuben rangers. For two years during the most critical period of the war Mr. Geller served his adopted country and one of his dearest delights is to relate anecdotes of these stirring times.
