JOHN MAYBEEFormer Doverites Married 60 YearsMr. and Mrs. John W May-bet*. former Dover residents, now residing in Sand I.ake, Notta-wa, Mich., are planning open house for friends and relatives Sunday, Nov. 17. in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.Mrs. Maybee, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kropp of Dover, and Mr. Maybee. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Munson \V. Maybee were married Nov. 14. 1903 in the Colon* Mich . Baptist Church with Rev. C. P. Thompkins as officiant.Mrs. Maybee’s parents observed their 60th anniversary in 1939.The couple moved to Dover in1904 where they resided in 808 K. Front St. Mr. Maybee was employed by the American Sheet and Tin Plate Co. In 1926 they returned to Colon where they operated a fruit farm until 1960 when they retired and moved to their present home.They have 4 children. Walter of Detroit: Wallace of Seattle, Wash.: Mrs. Merritt lt;Florence) Hendricks of White Pigeon, Mich., and Mrs. Lloyd t.Nellie) Burkholder of Battle Creek; 15 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.The open house will be held in the Colon Grange Hall.
