AnniversariesJohnstons celebrate 50th• *•Mr. and Mrs. Mansel Johnston of Clovis will be honored on their golden anniversary Nov. 17 at their home, 2312 Lomas Place, from 7 to 9 p.m.The Johnstons were married Nov. 15, 1934 in Tucumcari. They are engaged in farming.All friends and relatives are invited to the celebration, which will be hosted by the couple’s children: Mrs. Richard Gadry, Eagle Nest; Mrs. David Martin, Stillwater, Okla.; Mrs. Larry Delaney, Clovis; and Mrs. Bill Bizzell, Clovis.The couple have seven grandchildren.The Johnstons request no gifts, please.*Mr. and Mrs. John Romo will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Santa Fe Room, Clovis.The Romos were married in Anton Chico on Nov. 8, 1934.They lived in Floyd before moving to Clovis 25 years ago. Mr. Romo is a retired minister of the Church of Christ.The couple have six children: Sylvia Gonzales, Clovis; A1 Romo, Clovis; Madylen Wright, Arlington, Texas; Lee Romo, Friona, Texas; Don Romo, Clovis; and Rick Romo, Dallas, Texas.They also have 16 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.The reception will be hosted by the couple’s children andgrandchildren.
