Robert AndreRobert E. Andre, 66, of Godfrey, died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1988, at his home.In 1982, he retired as an industrial engineer from Owens-Illinois Glass Co. after 42 years of service.Born in Rushville, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Vaila (Horney) Andre.On April 7, 1945, in Alton, he married the former Dorothy Hanei. She died Oct. 8, 1982.Surviving are three daughters, Jo Ellen Fleming of Lexington, Ky., Mary Lou Johnston of Alton and Diane Kay Hamper of Naperville; three sons, Michael Andre of Edwardsville, Thomas Andre of Plano, Texas! and Patrick Andre of Godfrey; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Harold Andre of Springfield; and three sisters, Linda Andre of Springfield, and Betty Fulks and Eileen Rexroat, both of Rushville.A sister, Margaret Stevenson, preceded him in death.Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, where a prayer service will be read at 6:30 p.m.A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey with the Rev. John Spreen as celebrant.Burial will be in St. Patrick’s . Cemetery at Godfrey.
