Unidentified attackerLivermore doctor seriously woundedA prominent Livermore p h y s i c i a n was seriously wounded last night as he scuffled outside the home of a woman friend with an unideiv tified assailant who, according to police, came to the home about 6:15 p.m. demanding money at gunpoint.In Fremont at about the same hour, a wild shooting fray left two persons dead, one a murder victim and the second a suicide.Dead -on arrival at Washington Hospital in Fremont was WiPiam a Whitley, 31, of 4477 Cahill St., Fremont, who, Been rding to police, shot himself iri the head after fatally wounding a woman friend of his wife, Patricia, 23.The wounded woman, Rene Carol Andersen, 18, of Sunnyvale, died tvhiic undergoing surgery after suffering two kullet wounds in the chest.Livermore police said today they had no clues to the identity or whereabouts of the gunman who pumped two slugs into Dr. Jerrold Schwartz, 44, in the scuffle outside the home of Mrs.Nonie Cummings at 1B22 El Padro Drive.Dr. Schwartz was reported in satisfactory condition todayat Valley Memorial Hospital.Police, however, had not questioned him this morning on advice of doctors.
