Faster Than Professional. jMr. Hollingsworth tells of one race in which he made better time on an amateur track than did Jack Prince, a professional rider, who carried off the $1,000 prize. Jack Prince made a time of 2:25, while Hollingsworth completed the mile in 2:22. “Had I not been so green and inexperienced I might have entered as a professional and carried off the $1,000 prize instead of the $50 medal which I was given as amateur winner/ * said Mr. Hollingsworth.Jack Prince, who received honor as a bicycle racer i today engaged in building the oval automobile track in Los Angeles and Tacoma, Wash.
