SANTA FE (AP) — Gov.-elect Garrey Carruthers outspent his Democratic opponent by about $510,000 in his campaign to become governor of New Mexico.Campaign spending records on file at the secretary of state’s office show that Republicans Carruthers and Lt. Gov.-elect Jack Stahl spent$1.03 million on their campaign. Democrats Ray Powell and running mate Casey Luna spent about $519,940, according to the records.Powell had asked Car-ruthers to agree to a limit on campaign spending and said he would have pushed for legislation to cap spending if he had been elected.
