Wood served the naval service, 27 were on active duty, hist war. he received rank and also received tion for serving on the only United States submarine to sink a German submarine.Retired with the rank of full lieutenant, he served cn submarine duty for 22 years. Lieut. Wood is married to the former Alice Ferry of Pittsfield. They have three children. He is a native of Fall River. Lieut, and Mrs. Wood live at Schermerhorn Park, where they have resided for the past throevpars.
