N. tracks, near Milldale, yesterday morning. A Mg gash in his head and other bruises showed that he had fallen from a train. He was taken to the hospital. Hesaid he was stealing a ride to Louisville, when he lost his balance and fell from a freight car.RAILROAD ACCIDENTS. tltlWm. Gadker, aged 55, a machinist in the tlt; employe of the L. N. Railroad Company, S1 was terribly injured yesterday morning by fe] the accidental escape of steam from a loco- ti motive. With another machinist named F. h A. Brown, of Cincinnati, Gadker was in- S( spectlng the locomotive, when the plug in a; the bottom of the boiler under which he ei was at work blew' out. The escaping steam and hot water scalded Gadker’s face, hands $nd chest in a horrible manner before hecould be removed from the pit. Brown was scalded also, but managed to craw] out of the pit before he received serious injury. 4Both men were removed to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Meininger’s ambulance. Dr. Kearns attended to their injuries. It is feared that Gadker cannot recover. He re-MINOR MENTION.
