1958200850TH ANNIVERSARYDonald Wayne and Nancy Lee Aikins, of Indiana, are celebrating their 50th anniversary today.They were married Nov. 8, 1958, at the St. Marks Evangelical United Brethren Church in Juneau, by the Rev. Norman Pearce.Wayne’s parents are the late Laird and Leona Aikins and Nancy’s parents are the late Oren and Nina Stiver.The Aikins family includes three sons: Roger, Indiana; Rodney and wife Kimberly (Al-lender) Aikins, Indiana; and David and wife Ronna (Little) Aikins, Blairsville.They have been blessed with five grandchildren: Katie Mon-sour and husband Geoffrey, of Blairsville, and Lacey, Alex, Audrey and Daniel Aikins, of Indiana.Wayne was employed with Foodland Markets for 26 years until closure and RP and Consol for 17 years until its closure. He retired in December 1999.Nancy was employed with the Indiana Area School District for 31 years as an elementary secretary and retired in July 2000.The couple enjoys their family and attending grandchildren’s events, traveling, spending time at their camp near Benezette, watching the elk and playing cards.Wayne enjoys playing on a men’s dart team.Together they hope to enjoy many more years of blessings upon their marriage.
