Alvin WeigelMIDLANDServices for Alvin Weigel, 52, of Midland will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St, Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham, Kan, Burial will be in Pollman Mortuary in Russell, Kan.Local services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church and arrangements were handled by Newnie W. Ellis Funeral Home.Weigel died Sunday in a Midland hospital.He was born Oct. 1,1926. in Kansas and attended schools in Russell and Gorham. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Following his discharge, Weigel worked with Sohio Oil Co., being transferred to Oklahoma in 1955 and to Midland in 1960 to work in the accounting department.Weigel became a certified publicaccountant in 1966 and was a partner in Sproles, Woodard and Laverty accountin firm. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Doris Weigel; one son, Bruce Weigel of Midland; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Pamela) Bryan of Midland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Val Weigel of Gorham, Kan.; one brother, Hubert Weigel of Gorham; and six grandchildren
