Harold E. Day, worked 30 years for PenelecOIL CITY — Harold Eugene Day, 58, of 104 E. Third St., died at 6:40 a.m. today In the Allegheny General Hospital In Pittsburgh, where he had been a patient since Aug. 24.Born March 3, 1917, in Franklin, he was s son of Edwin F. and Jennie Wheeler Day. He was a 1036 graduate of OU City High School.Mr. Day served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, graduating from the Naval Electrical Training School at Purdue University, Lafayette, Ind. He also attended the Gyro School in Brooklyn, N.Y.While serving as head electrician aboard the USS-LSM 101, he toured the American area and saw action in the Panama Canal Zone. Asiatic-Pacific Theater, Philippine Theater and during the Japanese surrender. He was discharged with the rank of EM2-C (T).Prior to the war he was an apprentice electrician for Lalonde Electric.Employed at Penelec for the past 30 years, Mr. Day was employed in the electrical equipment department as senior UCM-hot stick man.Mrs. Btfty BrownOIL CITY — R*ttv R RrnwnHe was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Aerie 283, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL, Local 1265.He Is survived by his wife, the former Irene Stahlman, who hemarried Aug. 15,1938.Also surviving are four children, M Sgt William E Day, serving with the U.S. Marines at Ft. Meade, Md., Mrs. Paul S. (Patricis Ann) Whitling of Emlenton RD 1, Richard E. Day of Knox and Mrs. Larry E. (Sally Jo) Tenney of Emlenton RD 1; snd five grandchildren, Charles Scott Roberts, David Allen Dsy, Wendy Jo Tenney, Michelle Marie Tenney and Charity AnnWhitlingFuneral arrangements are In charge of the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday snd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday In the funeral home. The Rev. Leonard Good, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate.Interment will be in Sunset HU1 Memorial Gardens.
