The home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Pifer Sr., Punxsutawney RD 3, was the site of the Pifer Reunion, made up of the descendants of Harry F. and Cara (Davis) Pifer.The son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Pifer, Big Run, Alan F. Pifer, wasgiven special recognition as he has recently graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey. He and his wife, Michele, are living in Meadville.Two new additions have been added to the family since the last reunion. Max Pifer Sr.’s two grandsons are Dustin Michael who was born Jan 5,1983 to Mr. and Mrs. Max Pifer Jr of Punxsutawney RD 3 and Adam Devon who was born on Aug. 16,1983 to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pifer of Big Run.One wedding took place in the family during the summer, Margaret Ann Pifer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Bruce Pifer, became the wife of Albert H. Kohnle Jr. on Aug. 6 at Chester Springs.John Molnar, family photographer, showed a 1949 movie of a family gathering which included their parents. He also took a group picture of guests attending the reunion this year.Some of those attending were: Mrs. Marie Pifer, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pifer Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pifer, Angie and Beth, all of Brockway and Mr. and Mrs. Debert Pifer and Vickie of Big Run andguest.
