Wednesday, November 3,1954LTJMBERTON'S AUXILIARY POLICE, a division of Civil Defense, had Its biggest monthly meeting Monday night and a number of new members were swam in. The auxiliary police is one of the few CD divisions which can actually practice its role before an emergency arises, and for many weeks volunteers have been working with regular police officers to learn the trade. An opportunity to be really userur cama. with irurricane Hazel when auxiliaries were used for traffic control. Woman members b£ the group have been learning radio communication by actually actingas dispatchers for the police network.- This division of CD is headed by Police Chief W. M. Harris.
