AGED INDIAN BUILDS MODEL VILLAGE FOR STATE OF IOWADES MOINES, Nov. 2— lt;AP— Jim Poweshiek, Mesquakie Indian chief.spent three months building the only life-sized model Indian village in the country, and he now has given it to Iowa.The 77-year-oki chieftain usedonly a knife, an axe, and a largecopper kettle to construct a barkwinter house large enough for twoIndian families, a summer house, and all camp accessories.The camp was built on a creek bank on the farm property near Altoona of Edgar Harlan, state historical curator.Around the camp is a fence of light boughs and bark strings. Its circumference is 300 feet.Jim and Mrs. Poweshiek live a short distance from the camp. He likes to dress in Indian regalia and show visitors around.
