Bowers 60thMr. and Mrs. James Bow ers will celebrate their 60thwedding anniversary on June 4. Their children will he hold ing an open house from 2 to4 p.m. Saturday. June 4 at First Christian Church in Rochester to celebrate with family and friends.James and the former Lois Helms were married in FirstChristian Church in Rochester on June 3, 1951, with the Rev. Grant Black wood officiating.James graduated from Rochester High School in1945 while serving in the U.S. Army AirForce.Lois graduated from TWelve Mile High School in 1949.Since their marriage they have lived in Rochester and have five children, John (JoAnn Swank), Ruth Ann(Dr. Tim Ravencroft), Joe (Terri Vojtasek), Sue Bowers and Jay (Cindy Kinzie). They have 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildrea,Jim* retired from Sealed Power Corporation in 1988 after 37 years.Lois was a homemaker and had an alteration business in her home and did al terations for the BB Store, retiring in 2008.It is requested that gifts be omitted.Lois and James Bowers
