Michael Ronald Evans, alias Tommy Michael Manage, 19, of Cleveland, Ohio, had managed to free his solitary cell at the jail about 7:15 and picked another lock on the kitchen door to gain his freedom. Following a chase and ensuing struggle with twoState Troopers, in which Evans grabbed twoshotguns and pointed them at the troopers, Evans was shot twice in the chest by the troopers, He was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 8:15. He had been lodged in the Dinwiddie jail after a holdup and shoot-Gut with Prince George Police at the EHwyn Motel on Bt. 301 April 18.Evans held several police After his arrest it was learned he was wanted by police in Georgia for the robbery-murder of a beverage store owner.
