ILLED BY FALL■Berry Layne, Jr., aged 27, of Payette City R. D. (Lowiber), was fatally injured by a falling slate in Chart iers mine, near Clarksbiddle, last evening. lie was injured at 8:10 p. m. and died two hours later in Brownsville General hospital.'Pull details of the accident are not yet available.investigation of the accident was assumed by Deputy- Coroner Mike Lucas, but when the death occurred in Fayette county -Deputy Coroner Howard McCrory of Fayette county the probe responsibility was shifted.Layne was an experienced mine snapper and -had worked at Chartiers for some time.He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Berry Layne, Sr., his wife ‘Mildred, three children a brother andsister. -‘^IIPM
