May 28.—(P—Cases of ten men charged with illegal voting in the Laredo city election April 5 were acted on today in the district court of Judge J. F. Mullaly.Six of the defendants, A. C. Brooks, King Worley, Fabricio Villarreal. Pablo Valle, Udefonso Quintanilla and Jesus Carranza, were found to have had no right to vote in the eelction.They had lost their voting privilege when convicted on charges of operating automobiles while under the influence of liquor.Judge Mullaly dismissed their cases after warning them not to attempt to vote again until then-full citizenship rights were restored. They claimed they voted in the city election without knowing they were violating the law.The cases against Jose Mesta and Jose DuFresne, both Mexican citizens, were passed until a future date on motion of District Atty. John A. Vails.Bonds for Leo Dalrymple ana Jesus Villarreal, amounting to $300 each, were forfeited when they failed to appear for trial.The case of Lazaro Sanchez G., charged with paying the poll tax of another person, wras continued until the next term of court, along with the cases of Maximo Cruz, charged with loaning money to pay a poll tax for another, and Ramon Cuellar, charged with instigating illegal voting.
