Snyder of Galloway were honored Sunday, May 17, at an open house from 2 to 5p. m. in their home on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.A picnic dinner was held atnoon by members of the family. Mr. Snyder and the formerBella Kelley were married May11, 1914, at the Methodist parsonage in Cooperstown by the Rev. Mr. Wymer.The Snyders have eight children. They are Mrs. Elmer (Mabel) Ellis of Titusville, Russellat home, Norman of Kossuth, Mrs. Cecil (Grace) MacWil-liams, Mrs. Paul (Nina Ruth)McWilliams and Clifford Snyder of Wattsburg, Mrs. Paul(Doris) Haylett of Maryland, Mrs. Sherman (Esther June)Dunlap of Mt. Hope. All the children except Mrs. Haylett werepresent. She telephoned her parents best wishes the evening ofMay 17.The Snyders have 27 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Three of their grandsons are in the Army. Trey are SP-3 Arvin C. Ellis in Kansas,SP-4 Melvin J. Ellis in Franceand Pvt. Duane MacWilliams inGeorgia. Their son-in-law, PaulHaylett, is in Spain with theU. S. Navy.Mrs. Barbara Longstreet, theoldest granddaughter, servedthe wedding cake. Other granddaughters served as aides. Theyare Twila and Ellen Ellis, Sally,Anna Marie and Patty Snyder,Wanda MacWilliams and NancyDunlap.Among the guests present was Mrs. Emma Siefer of Galloway, who will be 99 years old her next birthday.
