A Statue for La Sal!e. !Nkw \ obk, May 26th.—The bronze statue of the vein rable Jean Baptiste de la Salle, foander of the “Brothers of Christian's; Schools,’ was unveiled yesterday on the lawn of the Catholic Protectory in West- j Chester, in the presence of Archbishop * Corrigan, Henry L. Hornet, Colonel Fred- j erick Conlding, Kllery Anderson, William i F. ltound. Secretary of the National Prison !Association, an 1 others. The statue repre- 1 sents Ih* la Salle instructing childivn, and is the gift of Mr. Hoguet to the male department of the institution, it is an exact counterpart, on a smaller scale, of the colossal marble mo ument of lo la Salle, erected by the citizens of lioueu in Normandy.
