Happy birthday, belatedly, to Harold June of 1003 Avery Ave., who became an octogenarian April19.He celebrated April 17 at a party given by daughters and sons-in-law Sandy and Larry Conklin of 105 Riverglen Road,Liverpool, andDebbv and BillrHurry of Chitte-nango at lire Conklin home.Among participarus were several nieces and nephews, golf buddies at Camillus Country Club, where Harold is a longtime member, and fellow workers at the former Electro-Ad Sign Co., where he worked for many years.His sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Andy Anderson, and sister Eleanor Barnwell sent greetings from Sun City, Ariz.He was given a four-day golfing trip to the Pinehurst golfing mecca in North Carolina, and he, Larry and Sandy enjoyed playing on four courses: Carolina Lakes, Whispering Woods, Deercroft and Quail Ridge.Harold said he hadn’t been inNorth Carolina since he rode the train to Southern Pines during World War II.He grew up on the South Side, on Wood Avenue, West Newell Street and other places, and graduated from Vocational High School.Golden anniversaryCongratulations to John and Julia (Hnotko) Maliwesky of 415 Tompkins St., Tipperary Hill, on their 50th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated May 21.A reception in their honor was attended by 70 friends and relatives at the Moose Lodge on Milton Avenue, given by their children: sons Michael and Jerry, hoth at home, and daughter Carol Werbeck of 809 Emerson Ave. The familyincludes four grandchildren and sixgreat-grandchildren.Special guests were members of their wedding party, Eva Huth of Liverpool, Mary Kaisak of Ulster Street and Dorothy Graser of Coleridge Avenue.John, a graduate of Vocational High School, is retired from Chrysler Corp., where he worked for 22 years. Julia is also a Vocational graduate. They are members of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where they were blessed at a ceremony after the 5 p.m. services.It’s a boyThomas Kevin Caraher was born to William and Laurie (Kinney) Caraher of 5515 Rockhamton Patch, Clay, May 9 in St. Joseph's Hospital.Tommy, who weighed in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces, and measured 2 J Vi inches, is the couple’s first child.Happy grandparents are Thomas and Roseann Kinney of 5955 Jerusalem Drive, Cicero, for whom Tommy is their first grandchild, and William and Arlen Caraher of 144 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls. Great-grandmother, also happy, is Norma Kinney of 317 Pacific Ave.50th class reunionNorth Syracuse High School’s Class of 1944 will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the South Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Lakeshore and Cicero Center roads.
