BRICK CHAPELOne of the happiest occasions of the ye^ir was on Friday, May 22, when the L. A. S. and other friends were invited to the pleasant homeof Mrs. Walter Cook, Potsdam, tocelebrate the birthday of Mrs.Mary Bovden, her mother. Otherhonored guests were Mr. and Mrs.George Barnes. It being Mr. Barnes’ birthday also. Mrs. Bov-den was very hanpv as her threeMrs. Grace C-ook and Mrs. Josie Young, were present, Mrs. Young having motored from her home in Philadelphia, Pa., to be there. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes were accompanied by their son, Vernon and his wife.An abundance of beautiful cutflowers were presented to the honored guests and many messages for future health and happiness were expressed. The . day passed all too quickly in merry jests and | happy reminiscences of by-gone da vs.Mrs. Boyden showed her quests an old family Christian almanac printed on the year of her birth, 1853, which was very interesting. Both Mrs. Boyden and Mr. Barnes were residents of the Brick Chapel neighborhood for many years. The hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Boyden was the scene of many merry makings in the past. Who does not remember Leslie and his happy personality and jolly violin music? Both^amilies were very active in all me neighborhood doings. /A bountiful and delicious repast was served, the most delicious of the food being a beautiful birthday cake. Of the thirty guests present, not one will forget for many a day this happy gathering and hope that Mrs. Boyden and Mr. Barnes will both be the promoters of many such gatherings in the future. Mrs. H. J. Bullis deserves the thanks of all present as she was the instigator of this happy dav.children, Walter
