Evans first lieutenant and is J Franklin L, Snider second lleuten-*s ant. Snider’s opponent was Grover I-j Allen who made a good showing in ejthe race for the second lieutenancy, i- Sir sergeants and eight corporals t are to be appointed by the regiment-e j al commander upon the recommendation of the captain. The first it I sergeant and the quartermaster g sergeant are to be named by the,i- captain from among the six sergeants so appointed. There shall he two cooks, one artificer, two musicians and not less than forty nor more than eightv-seven privates, one of whom may be appointed company clerk by the captain. Edgar E. Hale will be named for that place. The other noncommissioned officers have not been. selected.The company will be armed with Krag-Joergeson rifles and uniformedwith two suits, the blue and the kakhi suit. The rifles and the suits,91 with canteens, blankets, knapsacksanil the like, probably will be received In a week or so. In addition to these things, tents anti eating and cooking utensils for each man will will be furnished' the company, something not done before. Until the rifles are received the company will drill without arms.♦A full company is 104 men.
