A magistrate was appointed or or it with extensive powers, styled Lieutenant Governor. Tiiio-tity DenoKimoy was appointed to this ofhee. The Territory woe. afterword a ceded by Virginia to the United States, by wbose authority it was divided into two uouQtic«j called St. Clair and Randolph. This was done Id the year 17P5. John«on.
