□ BOG WALK NEWS.i* * ir’ (From Oar Correspondent)*Bog Walk. Wednesday.— In connec»y, tion with the breaking into of the B. shop of Mr. R. A. .March, of this nt village already reported in these columns, your correspondent learns that the police has effected one ar-» i rest. The party arrested is the young 'e man. Desmond Gordon, who, as stated before, stopped in a room ie at the back of the shop belonging to ,e Mr. C. B. Edwards, his employer.'j It is alleged that accused was in , Jcompany w ith o young woman on the IS | night in question and the following; 38 day he gave her presents of soap, Ig*!etc., answering to the description of a’' the things alleged to have been stolen ie from the shop. There has been some J altercation between this young wo-It !; men and another, and in the course d ! of their exchange of words this de-*• duration is said to have been nVde. s As has been already stated, Gordon1 ^ ww* Jn told the manager of the shop, Mr. i- Clarke, and others that it was about k midnight on Saturday that he came ® j in to go to bed. and that in going 10 to get some water from an iron tank nearby he saw the window open■ M'•and that he got a nail and a bit of string and made the window secure.He, however, failed to report the matter to anyone on the day ■following and it was not until Mondaythat he made this statement.Accused was transferred to Lin-stead this morning, where the case will be gone into more thoroughly. In the meantime the police are very busy endeavouring to find any clue that migljg lead to the arrest of any other parties connected with the case Rain has commenced to fall this morning in real earnest and from the6 appearance of the heavens it seems1 as if it will be continuous.
