Mr., Mrs. William DeSoto observe 50th anniversaryCUMBERLAND - Mr. and Mrs. William J. DeSoto, Bedford, Pa., were recently honored on their 50th wedding anniversary. A dinner was heldat Lindy’s Restaurant on Bedford Road hosted by their son, David W. DeSoto, and his wife Monica DeSoto.The couple was married April 18, 1942 by the late Rev. C.H. Welsh.Mrs. DeSoto is the daughter of the late Jacob and BessieBlubaugh. She worked at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, the Celanese Fibers Corporation and the Bedford Springs Resort. Mr. DeSoto is the son of the late William and Beatrice DeSoto. He retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company after 33 years of service and is a veteran of World War II serving in the 147th combat engineers.Out of town guests were from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Florida.
