Ryan of RD 1, Bur-gettstown, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary onMeeting Held By Colliers Naomi LodgeCOLLIERS — A meeting of the Naomi Rebekah Lodge was held in the Colliers IOOF Hall with Mrs. Eugene Radvansky, noble grand, presiding.A report on the cancer fund was given by Mrs. Paul Hoke.Mrs. Wesley Kelley, activity chairman, * thanked members who assisted with the public turkey dinner.It was announced that the lodge will purchase new coffee pots and servers for the hall.A Mother’s pay program' was presented by Mrs. Virginia Herd, Mrs. Robert Weigmann, Mrs. Bernard Copenhaver and Mrs. Eugene Smith.Mrs. Billy Davis of Weirton,state warden, was a guest at the meeting. Other guests were members of the Newell Rebekah Lodge. They presented Mrs. Radvansky with a traveling turtle and entertained with a humorous program.It was announced that officers will be installed July 8.Ruth Johnson of the NewellSunday, May 26. ^They will be honored with a family dinner followed by a reception for friends and relatives from 2 to 5 p.m. in their home. The affair is being given by their children.Mr. Ryan, a native of Ebens-burg, Pa., and the former Marguerite Bearden of Weirton were married May 28, 1924 in Wellsburg.They have four children:Robert Ryan of Georgetown, Pa.; Mrs. Burley (Elaine) Roberts of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. James (Elsye) Daugherty of Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Loyd (Doris) Frazier of Hookstown, Pa.The Ryans also have 12 grandchildren and one great grandson.Mr. Ryan retired in 1966 from the Strip Steel Department of Weirton Steel Division after 36 years of employment.-0-The picnic, which gets its name from the French Piquenique to “pick up a trifle”), ranges from the elaborate movable feast outdoors, perhaps under a marquee, to a simple meal picked up at the local delicatessen.
