Adrian, Mich.—The First Methodist EpiscopalChurch, pf Adrian, Mich., Rev. C. H. Morgan pastor, set apart Sunday, May 13 th, to an appreciative recognition of the aged. The presence of Rev. Oliver Burgess and wife, of Cleveland, O., addedgreatly to the interest of the occasion. Almost fifty years had elapsed since his pastorate at Adrian in 1838-9, the year preceding the separate organization of the Michigan Conference. He was permitted to visit the basement of what was the former church edifice, and see the room in which, under his ministry, a powerful revival was carried forward, resulting in about two hundred conversions. The house that was then a parsonage, in which they began housekeeping, and in which their first child was born, was another interesting landmark. On the evening of May 10th, it being the sixty-ninth birthday of Mrs. Burgess, a reception was tendered them at the church at the close of prayer-meeting. Brother and Sister Burgess enjoy a great blessing in their continued vigor of bodyand mind.
