Demine of u Pioneer,A pioneer in this section of the state died at his homo at Argyfo Friday morning at 6 o’clock—Joseph Turner. He was in his ninety-first year. His death was due to an accident, he having fallen down a flight of stairs at his home last Saturday evening at 7 o’clock, sustaining the fracture of one of his hips and of a few ribs. He had been in seeming good health right along until that time, and then he failed rapidly until death ensued.The deceased was a native of Cumberland, Eng., and was bom in 1810. He came to this country in 1847, coming direct to Lee county and settling in Keokuk. He lived there a short time and then removed to Denmark where he lived for eight years. Hethen moved to Ambrosia where heresided for a dozen years and then bought land near Argyle and that place he has made his home since. He was a very successful farmer and owned 160 acres. He leaves one son— Wm. J. Turner and two daughters— Mrs. E. H. Alvis and Mrs. Louis Seiferheld who live near Farmington.
