HolmesSafety association Wednesday for a unique record in mine safety that covers nearly a 30-year period.Sixteen employes of the Winding Gulf company have a mining record cif an average of 21 years each without a lost-time accident.One employe. Charley Rawley. has worked in the company’s mines 29 years without a lost-timeaccident.N. P. Rhinehart, chief of thestate department of mines, will bea featured speaker on the special program Wednesday night, when a representative of the U. S. bureau of mines will present theHolmes award, which has been likened in mining to a congressional medal in other fields.C. M. Meadows, state mine inspector, of Beckley, will be chairman of the special program. T. L. Conway, safety director of theWinding Gulf company, will speak.Other speakers will be A. H. Clav-tor. president of the union local at Fpperley, F,. F,. Jones, general superintendent of the company, and L. V.
