A new editor has been named in Waynesboro I^e is James W Rickett, 522 Clayfon Ave , and he has taken over the job as top man on the staff of the Landispatch, the employe newspaper at Landis Tool CoJim’s main job at Landis Tool is personnel manager, but like the Army (with which he has had considerable experience), this has been called “an additional duty ” The town native started with the local company in 1961 as a machinist apprentice He completed his trade in 1964 and after holding other jobs, was appointed personnel manager in 1974 According to the April Landispatch, “retiring” editor, Don McBride, “will serve in an advisory capacity and will, from time to time, provide articles for the paper “Others on the staff include Feature writer, Page Etchison, artist, John Meek, photographer, Lynn Foster, and circulation, Sally YingstIn the same issue of the newspaper that carried the foregoing information the names of three recent retirees from Landis Tool were listed Heading the trio was Lloyd Schildt — who worked for 36 years on the “main bay“ in the foundry The two others also were employed at the plant for 36 years each They are Ralph J Shearer, foreman in the vise department, and Kermit H Spence, an assembler in the vise department My best wishes are extended to •all three of these gentlemen for a long. healthy and happy retirement1
