Benson.James A. Benson, a well known resident of Green county, died Sunday morning at 8:30 o’clock at his home ir the town of Jefferson. He had beer troubled with diabHis for a year or more and his condition became suddenly worse a few days ago.Mr. Benson was born in Massachusetts August 6, 1844. He was married in 1870 to Mrs. Lillian A. Humphrey and for many years they lived on th» farm at present occupied by the family. After a residence of five years in the city they moved back to the farm last spring. They resided at 447 North Jackson street. Mr. Benson was a veteran of the war, serving his country nearly two years being' a member of Co. K, First Wisconsin Cavalry. A wife and six children survive him as follows: John Benson, Sephus Benson, Benjamin Benson, Mrs. Lillian Kubly and Mrs. Ortha Scott, all of Jefferson, and James Benson, of Clarno.Mr. Benson was an honorable and upright citizen and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock from the M. E. church in this city.
