(RNSi — Juniors and graduating seniors of the Stamford High School were honored this week with a banquet and dance.A western theme was in the Junior-Senior Banquet at the high school cafeteria, when SO seniors and guests were entertained bv the juniors.The tables were covered to represent pine boards and were lighted by old fashioned kerosene lamps. Places were marked by miniature cowboys sitting on a rail, and program-menus were ornamented with a bucking bronc in silhouette.The speaker’s table featured miniature covered wagons and stage coach and real horseshoes as well as flowers arranged in crockery bowl. Garden Bowers in crockerybowls 8nd pitchers were arranged on the serving tables.Ir. the foreground was a tvpi-I1E. R. Pace and Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Kendrick.Gloria Pace, member of thegraduating class of Stamford High School, was honored with a breakfast given by Mrs. G. W. Rollins.Sharing honors with Miss Pace were eleven of her classmates who received gifts of white linen handkerchiefs wrapped as diplomas and tied with blue satin bows. The foursome tables were centered with miniature graduate dolls dressed in caps and gowns of royal blue, carrying tiny diplomas in white and blue.Guests were the honoree and Patricia Flemins. Reeves held open house in their Rochester home.Andrew McAllen Reeves was born near Albany, Ky„ Jan. 6. 1871. He came to Texas in 1889 with his brother, Reth, and two of the Speck brother*. Iona Browder Reeves was born near Decatur. Aug. 15. 1875. She moved with her father’s family to Knox County in 1884 where he. Rufus Browder, and 11 other men established the townsite of Benjamin.Mr. and Mrs. Reeves were married Mav 17, 1899 at the Browderhome in Benjamin and came toHaskell on their honeymoon. Theylived in Munday until 1912 when they moved to Rochester. Since 1890, Reeves has been a cotton gin manager and for 26 years has operated his present gin in Rochester.IIFour of the couple’s seven chil dren are now living: Rufus Reeves Corpus Christi: Mrs. Dow King Pampa; Mrs. Swain Burkett, Dim mitt, and Mrs. Leon G. Cox o Wichita Falls. Punch was served from a crystal punch bowl. Yellow roses were used on the buffet and other spring flowers throughout the house.
