COOKSONS CELEBRATE 50 YEARS TOGETHER — Charlie N. and Hope M. Cookson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren. Hope Mary Crowder married Charlie Neil Cookson on June 1, 1947, in Roswell, where they were both raised, at the First Presbyterian Church. They have lived in Alamogordo for the past 41 years, where Hope retired as a teacher from Oregon Elementary School, and Charlie worked as a vocational agriculture teacher in Tularosa and later a homebuilder. He currently manages Cookson Luxury Apartments. They attend the First Presbyterian Church, and are involved with the Alamogordo Rotary Club, the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce, Retired Educational Employees and Alamogordo Genealogical Society. They have five children, Charles Neil Cookson Jr. of Alamogordo, Ruth Ann Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo., Janice Urps of San Antonio, Texas, Albert Cookson of Midland, Texas, and Helen Warfield of Houston, Texas. They also have eight grandchildren and one grandson-in-law. All their family will be gathering for this celebration, and they invite all friends, former students, and their children’s former classmates to drop by and share a piece of cake and a glass of punch, and visit with the family. They ask that no gifts rte brought.
