Awards Assembly Held WednesdayOver 75 students received awards in the areas of music, athletics, newspaper work and speech work at the awards assembly held on May fO.Mr. Drips and Mr. Fish, the speech coaches at THS presented .awards to the following people: (*) indicates a I rating at state speech contest).Ruth Engert, Roger Hahn, Paul Carroll, Nancy Burrow, Roger (W) Buchholz, Karen Krumm, Kathy Blasberg, Audrey Quass, Diane Buchholz, Debbie Pipho, ‘Donna Kappmeyer, Clarence Bergmann, Allen Heinemann, Ruth Leuen-berger, Vanada Jahnke ‘Jacki Krumm, Judy Feuchtwanger, ‘Susan Carroll.Mr. Fish recognized the individuals who worked on the news-; paper staff and presented cash | prizes to Kathy Chapin, Jacki Krumm and Jennifer Davison for an editorial contest held in connection with the journalism class.Mrs. Bergland and Mr. Van Bronkhorst were in charge of presenting awards for vocal and instrumental music.Vocal awards were given to Steve Kerr, Gordon Sievers, David See, Victor Matthias, Judy i Feuchtwanger, Elaine Meyer, Di-I ane Nacke, Sue Wente, Karen Leisinger, Gayl Westendorf and 1 Raymond Dietz.| Silver band pins were presented to Lawain Judisch, Kris Ryan, Carma Fink, Kent Mueller, Dale Matthias, Roger Kerr, Shirley Meyer, Audrey Hildebrandt and| Linda Leuenberger.Individuals receiving gold band ! pins included: David See, Diane i Nacke, Elaine Meyer, Marjorie Menke, Nancy Hoppenworth and i Judy Feuchtwanger.Mr. Van Bronkhorst presented a special stage hand award to Glenn Johnson.i Allen Heinemann was given trophies for being selected as the ; senior bandsman and the Tripoli I bandsman of the year.Miss Possehl presented eheer-j leading letters to ‘Judy Feucht-iwanger, ‘Sue Carroll, Lois Pe-I ters, Kathy Blasberg, Judy Dett-mer, Vicky Zander and Judy Pe-j ters.Mr. Miller presented membership certificates to the newly inducted members of the National Honor Society: Kathy Berger,Daine Moeller, Gordon Sievers, Steve Ellison, Karl Krumm, Gayl Westendorf and Paul Carroll.!Athletic awards were present-, ed by coaches Ott, Van Ahn, Rayand Samuelson.
