William A. Huston, eon of Judge Samuel and Christian Huston, deceased, was born in Franklin township in February, 1820, and is therefore, the oldest native of said township now living. TheD his father owned the farm that James H Rodman afterward possessed and died on a few years since, December \ !44, William A. Huston became the husband of Miss Elizabeth Tucker, daughter of James and Sarah Tucker, deceased. The marriage ceremony was performed by the late Rev. John L.Mar-tin, then a Presbterian minister who lived in Salem, This couple raised a family of seven children, namely, Celestioe., William L., Austin, Sandford H., Samuel F., Clara E. and Lincoln, two of whom have died. They were Mrs. Celes-tine J. Robison and William L,Austin lives in Jackson county, Sand ford and Sam on farms adjoining their j ^es father’s farm, Mrs. Clara E. Bressie at Kossuth and Lincoln in Columbia, Nevada. During the 87 years of his life Mr. Huston has never sworn an oath, never been drunk, never in a law-suit, never was compelled by law to pay a debt, never compelled by law any one who owed him a debt to pay it, never rode on the cars, always voted the straight I Republican ticket and enjo) s the love and | respect of ail who know him. Mrs. Button was born in Nelson Co,,Kentucky, and | came to this vicinity when ]s months ' and is now S| years of age. She can iook onck uver a long life well spent,I in which she has ever done her duty as I a wife, mother and neighbor. In the fall ' of 1 *•:; they moved into the house the) no.v live in. We doubt if Washington count) has ano her couple that has liv d together as man and wife sixty-three years. They love to have their friends visit them, and they enjoy fun and a ! joke as much as ever despite their age and infiirmties.
