Maria and her late husband, Stove, who was a fisherman and well-digger in Key West, had seven sons and one daughter bom to them. Maria gained local fame years ago when she was featured as one of the Key West natives in the classic movie The Rose Tattoo. When asked to what she attributes her long longevity, Marie responded, I spend my time thinking about my children. She also spends a lot of her time travelling to visit her children. Her favorite place is Georgia in the summer.(Citiion photo, Betty Williams)
