Eagle Netters Take 11 Of 12I *SiBy Dan Resnlk Register Sports Writer• • V * t• ♦ I* , , •Woodrow Wilson won 11 of 12 tennis events in the Region V meet here Saturday, but officials from Mullens High School might have been even happier than those at Beckley.Rene Nuckols became the first representative from the Wyoming County school to qualify for the state tennis meet by knocking off Beckley’s number two woman — Kittie Thompson.“We played for two hours,” Nuckols said “and we had one volley that went on for three or four minutes. We just kept hitting the ball back and forth.”Nuckols took the marathon match ft-6.She had jumped to a 3-1 lead butThompson took the next four games then Nuckols took the next three.
