Tom Elkin, who was seeded fourth in the number one field and who has a record of 8-4, won a match against the top seed, Bob Howerton of Logan, and went on to win the championship against Mike Lovem, of Princeton, 6-2, 6-2.Rob Anderson. Mark Fields and Bill Jones remained undefeated by winning their championship matches in straight sets. All the men won in straight sets.
