Mr. Allen is q a nephew of the famous Private John Allen, of Tupelo, Miss., the only man . in the entire Confederate army who ja boasted of emerging from the war with the rank of private, and wdio afterwards gained nation-wide fame in Congress as one of the ablest and wit-tiest speakers who ever sat in thatbody. His nephew is a worthy successor and the talk he gave last night was worth going miles to hear.
