Mr. George Lang, of the firm of Shenk Lang, in attempting to suppress the fire in the second story of their store, found himself surrounded by the flames, and the only hope left him to save his life was to jump through the window* to the grouud below.— In breaking through the glass his lace, hands and arms were terribly lacerated, and severely singed by the flames.
