Kh SON II I .OKI* NS4.\KIFuneral services for Kenov H Lokensgard. well known former Havre businessman, will be conducted at the Hazen Jaeger Funeral Home chapel in Spokane at tp m Thursday and interment w ill be in Missoula Lokensgard. 69. died Monday in Spokane In the \ear he lived in Havre he was a district manager of the H Karl ('lack Oil Co and a partner with Harvey Parsons in the Glacier Trail Creamery He was born in Madison. Minn June 23. 1906 and was a graduate of Columbia Falls. Montana High SchoolLokensgard attended Montana State College and graduatedfrom Washington State College in Pillman in 1933 At WSC he was a collegiate heavyweight boxer and was a contender in the Olympic (lames semi finals in the light heavyweight division at PennStatelokensgard was a member ofthe Washington State football team that played the University of Nlabama in the Rose Bowl in193)In 19;t6 he was married to Josephine Clack, now deceased For 20 vears he lived in«FHavreWhile a resident of Havre. Lokensgard served as a mayorpro-tem. alderman and cityrecreation director Hi interests were many and included work in the UnitedPresbvterian Church he was avice president of Area 9 of the I mted Prednterian Men and afirst lav moderator of theSvnodof the Rockies He was an ordarned elder in Havre and laterin Spokane and was a trustee ofSan Francisco TheologicalSeminary Uvkensgard hadbeen a board member of Rockv*Mountain College and had served on the board of old Deaconess Hospital in Havre He was a chairman of the executive committee of Nor them Montana college and ofucauilate had been on the board of the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane Recently he had joined The Gideons One of his church interests was Camp Spalding, a Presbyterian recreational facilityFor more than 50 years he was involved in Bov scout acwtivities and was a former vice president of Northern Montana Council of Bov Scouts and the executive council in Spokane lokensgard was president ofthe Hillvard Rotarv Club in 1972 1973 He was secretarv ofWthe governor of District 508 in1973-74He worked, helping youth in the Spokane Juvenile Court program and was with the youth appreciation group For 17 years lokensgard was a commissioned officer in the I S Armv and served in Wotld War II, retiring as a captain he is survived by his wife, the former Alvce Hanson ofmMissoula Thev were married inSeptember of 1965 Also surviving are two sons. Maurice Lokensgard of Silver City, N M and the Rev Keith H Loken sgard of Helena a step daughter. Mrs Luann Nordby of Missoula, a sister, Martha Thomas of Morris, Minn and five grandchildren Memorials have been established to The Gideons and the Union Gospel Mission The family home address is E 1714 S Riverton.
