Openers Set In Monessen City LeagueOpening day pairings were draws and final plans outlined at the Monessen City Softb all! League's meeting the past weekendThe honor of taking the lid off Monday, May 22, wilx go the Ravens AA and the Blue Notes, formerly MPSA. On Tuesday, May 23, Page’s will tee off with Webber AC, who replaced Chateau Lounge, while defending champion Park Casino meets the PNA on Wednesday, May 24.All games will be played at the City Park Field, starting at 6 o’clock. All first round games will be single affairs, president Harry (Doc) Poletini announced.In other matters, the Monessen Softball Umpires Ass’n will again handle all league games. Umpires Steve Bardoby and Joe Leone made several suggestions and they will outline ground rules and hold a general discussion with the team managers next Sunday. May 14. at the Ravens AA, starting at 2 o'clock.
