Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dare of Observe Their 65th Wedding AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Michael Dare of Robstown, pictured here, observed their sixty-fifth wedding anni-f versary on April 21 with a small group of relatives and friends.They started life together in Parkersburg, West Virginia, when she, as Miss Mary Holley, the youngest of thirteen children, became his wife at a ceremony in the home of her parents in April, 1881. After thirty years of farming in that state, they moved to Texas in 1912, settling at first on a farm north of Sinton and then moving to Robstown in 1922.Both Mr. and Mrs. Dare were born in Pennsylvania and moved to West Virginia before reaching the age of 12, making the trip in a steamboat over the Ohio River. They vividly remember the trip with their respective families and | with all the household goods. It ' was their first “real” adventure and one they will never forget.Mr. and Mrs. Dare had four children, two of whom are living. They are Mrs. J. II. Dittlinger and H. E. Dare, both of Robstown. The j eldest daughter died in 1912, and II. H. Dare, minister of Chettles Memorial Church of Austin, died in January, 1944. They also have seven grandchildren and 2 great I grandchildren.JBoth Mr. and Mrs. Dare, who are 89 and 88 years of age, respectively, are very active. Mrs. Dare still does almost all of her housework andeven helps Mr. Dare with the chores in the garden.Each of them has a brother andsister living in West Virginia.
